Stop SOPA

The move by several members of Congress to regulate the Internet through SOPA is dangerous and ill-advised.  This would be the first step towards censorship of the Internet. Today several high profile sites are blacked out in protest.

Before it is too late contact your members of Congress and plead with them to not support this foolishness.

Welcome, Aubrey

My significant other, Lynn, became a Grandmother for the first time today with the birth of Aubrey Claire to her son and daughter-in-law. Lynn is going to be a world class grandparent. I am so happy for Lynn and her family.  I am glad I was able to share this monumental day with her.

What a Game!

Did you happen to watch the Niners and Saints game yesterday? It was easily the best Football game I have ever seen. Jim Harbaugh and company are an awesome group. Nobody, including myselfa, gave them much of a chance this season to do much of anything, yet alone be within one win of going to the Super Bowl. Coach, I apologize. Good luck next weekend.

Oops

Sorry about the typo. The correct word in the title for the last posts is Treasure.

if You Want to be a Writer...

in an interview Ray Bradbury once told me, If you want to be a writer you've got to write every day. If you want to write short stories write one a week. At the end of a year you might have two or three that are pretty good. If you want to write you've got to be all in. If you want to write, you've got to write. Just do it.

sweet Inspiration

Many of my writer friends say that when they are working on a project they don't read other writers who write in the same genre. They claim it might confuse their own work. I don't agree. I write thrillers. When working on a book I enjoy reading the work of other writers who write the same kind of books I do. At this pointe I believe just about anyone writes better than I do and there is much I can learn. Some of my favorites are John Lescroart, Robert Crais, and Sheldon Siegel.they are all good friends and in the early days provided me with qenczouragement, advice, and counsel. If you have never read their work do yourself a favors and pick up one ofe their books. You will become a fan for life.

Words of Wisdom from the Gods

I love quotes that deal with writing. We can learn a lot from people from all sorts of different fields. Here are two of my favorites.

" You can say what you want on a slide trombone, but you've got to be careful with words."
                                                                                        Louis Armstrong

"All generalizations are no damn good, including this one."
                                                                                        Oliver Wendell Holmes

If you have a favorite quote on writing, please share it with me at terrencebrejla@gmail.com.

Cheers!
